SpendingBank ("we", "us", "our") is a personal finance and retirement planning tool operated by an independent developer. SpendingBank is not a licensed bank, financial institution, or investment advisor. We are not regulated by any financial authority. Our registered contact email is [email protected].

We collect the following information when you use SpendingBank:

• Account data: your full name (display name), email address, and password (stored in encrypted/hashed form, never in plain text).

• Profile data: your date of birth, country, and any financial inputs you enter into the calculator (these are stored only if you explicitly save a plan).

• Saved plans: retirement plans, travel plans, and food plans that you choose to save to your profile.

• Direct messages: if you use the private messaging feature, your messages are stored securely to enable your conversation history.

• Usage data: anonymous request logs collected by default by our hosting provider. We do not run additional analytics or tracking scripts.

• No cookies: we do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.

Your data is used exclusively to:

• Provide you with the SpendingBank service (calculator, travel planner, food finder, community)

• Display your saved plans in your profile

• Allow you to sign in and authenticate across sessions

• Send password reset emails when requested

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers. We do not use your data to train AI models.

SpendingBank uses the following categories of third-party service providers that may process your data, each contractually and/or technically limited to using it only for the specific service we've engaged them for:

• A database and authentication provider — securely stores your account data.

• A cloud hosting and CDN provider — serves the website and may log anonymous request metadata.

• An automated language-processing provider — used for travel planning, food recommendations, and market commentary features. Prompts sent do not contain your personal information.

• An embedded market-data/charting widget — may set its own cookies when charts load, under its own privacy policy.

Your account data is stored on secure, access-controlled cloud infrastructure. Passwords are never stored in plain text — we use industry-standard password hashing. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We apply per-user data isolation so that users can only access their own data. We do not have access to your password. As with most messaging features, if you contact support or a moderator directly through the messaging feature, that conversation may be reviewed to help resolve your request or address a safety report.

Your account and all associated data (plans, profile) remain stored until you delete your account. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time, directly from your Profile page on the website or in the mobile app — no need to contact us. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. If you're unable to access your account for any reason, you may also email [email protected] and we will process the request.

Depending on your country, you may have rights under GDPR, PDPA (Malaysia), PDPC (Singapore), or similar frameworks:

• Right to access: request a copy of the data we hold about you.

• Right to rectification: correct inaccurate data directly in your profile.

• Right to erasure: delete your account and all associated data at any time via the Profile page — this is fully self-service and takes effect immediately.

• Right to data portability: request your data in machine-readable format.

To exercise the right to erasure, use the "Delete Account" option in your Profile. For any other request, email [email protected].

SpendingBank is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of SpendingBank after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
